The Benefits of SRI
Written by Peter Li-Chang Kuo

“Society” is where people live together. “Responsibility” is the ability to respond to problems. “Investment” is the essential means of solving social challenges. Since 1986, we have invested "one dollar" in "Social Responsibility Investment" (SRI), and by 2002, that investment had appreciated to at least "300 dollars."
That initial "one dollar" was used to build the equipment necessary to realize our Genesis-level invention — the TPC, which comprises the “TranSmart Chip Card” and its TranSmart Reader Device (TRD). Through the international cooperation platform of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), this innovation helped facilitate legislation and policy initiatives that enabled member economies to navigate the Asian Financial Crisis, the first major global crisis.
In reality, that "one dollar" represented an investment of
approximately "USD 70 million" —
enough at the time to purchase around thirty buildings in
In 2002, an academic institution was commissioned to conduct an independent valuation of this invention. The conclusion placed its value at "USD 23.4 billion." Dividing USD 23.4 billion by the original USD 70 million investment yields a factor of approximately "334," meaning that every one dollar invested had effectively become three hundred dollars or more in value. More importantly, this appreciation was intended entirely for the benefit of society rather than private gain.
During the global SARS outbreak in 2003, we were invited by the Australian Government to present the "Global Channel–TES" initiative at APEC as a Best Practice Policy. At the conference podium, we introduced the Linda Din Index (Linhorn's Indicator), expressed as: "A = C / GDP = 0.36." This framework proposed a guideline for creating a triple-win among "people, businesses, and governments" to approach the possible trinity.
Following the 2006 APEC
CEO Summit, we launched a series of "Social
Responsibility Investment Seminars" in
Unfortunately, advocates of speculative finance failed to understand that the original "one dollar" had to be transformed into the TPC–TRD ecosystem before it could generate three hundred dollars of value. Instead, they promoted financial engineering and leveraged speculation, persuading the public that "one dollar can simply be leveraged into three hundred dollars." The result was humanity's second great crisis — the Global Financial Crisis.
At APEC CEO Summit 2009,
we were invited by the leaders of two economies to
On June 28, 2010, President Barack Obama approved the "President's Plan to Increase the Spectrum," expanding wireless spectrum resources and strengthening satellite communication capabilities. This development enabled our vision of integrating the C-Phone with satellite-connected TRDs into "a practical eStore System," turning our SRI initiative into reality and helping usher in sixteen years of sustained economic prosperity.
The ten-year
During the COVID-19 pandemic,
humanity's third major crisis, our Genesis-level invention became an
However, the rapid and largely unchecked expansion of multinational cartels soon pushed annual cashless transactions to nearly "USD 200 trillion," a scale that some observers have described as a runaway train.
At a meeting on June 24, financial experts from Wall Street remarked that our SRI initiatives had already helped humanity overcome three major global crises. They expressed hope that our "next initiative" could once again provide a path forward, warning that failure to do so could leave humanity facing its greatest challenge in history.
In 2000, we proposed the "ICT Initiative" at the Brunei APEC Meeting. Twenty-six years later, we believe it is time to advance that vision into "AICT."
The cornerstone of this next-generation initiative is the "AICT Control Center" — "a commercial link to the universal businesses." For this reason, it is abbreviated as "Club." This is not a conventional social club; rather, it is envisioned as a global operating platform connecting commerce worldwide — and, ultimately, a new source of hope for humanity.
At the 2003 APEC Ministers’ Meeting in Chiang Mai, our proposal “Global Channel–TES” received extremely high acclaim. APEC ministers and representatives from various countries praised the proposal as: “A best-practice example for assisting ‘240 million people’ to start businesses!”
Regarding the “SROI” (Social Return on Investment) of this proposal, it can be quantitatively assessed based on its foundational investment and the subsequent macro-level social value generated:
1. Foundational Leverage Design of the Proposal
According to our TES system plan, we advocated to issue 1.7 billion contactless TranSmart Chip Cards and establish an “USD 85 billion” SRI Fund to rebuild the cross-border trade system and implement “technology-driven poverty alleviation.”
2. Dual Interpretation of SROI Value
1)
Micro-level Social Poverty-Alleviation Value:
If this USD 85 billion
base fund were successfully deployed to help “240
million grassroots workers” and micro-vendors worldwide start
businesses, and assuming each entrepreneur, over the following years, generated
an average of approximately “USD
Using the SROI ratio
formula: “USD 2.4 trillion / USD 85 billion ≈ 28.2.”
This means that for every USD 1 invested, approximately USD
2)
Macro-level Output Extended to Its Limit—Linking the Non-Cash Transaction Wave:
At the time, many asked how large a business opportunity "TES" could bring. APEC speaker Linda Din (Ding Lin-Hong) answered: “USD 10 trillion.” Subsequently, in the 2020s, global cashless transaction volume actually surpassed “USD 36 trillion.”
If we take the overall
realized value of this global inclusive financial infrastructure (USD 36
trillion) as the ultimate social and economic return, then its SROI ratio would
surge to: “USD 36 trillion / USD 85 billion ≈ 423.5.”
This implies that for every 1 dollar of Social Responsibility Investment, we
have leveraged as much as “423.5 dollars” of
inclusive prosperity value for the entire human society over the past few
decades — higher than the “1:
United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs)
Aligning the 2003 APEC proposal “Global Channel–TES,” which assisted 240 million people in starting businesses, with the contemporary United Nations “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs), its social benefits can be broken down into the following three core dimensions:
1.
Economic and Poverty-Alleviation Dimension: Laying the Cornerstone of Social
Prosperity
SDG 1:
No Poverty
Detailed benefits: 240 million people were able to cross the financial threshold of being “unbanked” (having no traditional bank accounts), directly gaining access to the basic credit and productive resources needed for entrepreneurship, thereby thoroughly breaking the vicious cycle of intergenerational poverty.
SDG 8:
Decent Work and Economic Growth
Detailed benefits: Assisting micro and small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in formalization by providing safe and convenient cashless transaction tools. This not only gives grassroots vendors a stable and dignified source of income but also effectively promotes the transformation of informal economies toward inclusive finance across various economies.
2.
Social and Equity Dimension: Empowering Vulnerable Groups and Eliminating
Cross-Border Exploitation
SDG 5:
Gender Equality
Detailed benefits: In many developing economies, women often face the greatest difficulty in obtaining traditional loans. “Global Channel–TES” broke through gender-based institutional barriers, enabling a large number of female entrepreneurs to independently conduct business through TranSmart Chip Cards and their Reading Devices (TRD), significantly enhancing women’s economic autonomy and status within their families.
SDG
10: Reduced Inequalities
Detailed benefits: Profits from traditional cross-border trade are often exploited layer by layer by intermediaries. TES provides vulnerable groups with an equitable peer-to-peer (P-P) international settlement mechanism, allowing rural farmers and artisans to seamlessly “earn global income from home” while receiving fair compensation for their labor, thereby narrowing the wealth gap— per SNA.
3.
Infrastructure and Institutional Dimension: Building a Sustainable Digital
Ecosystem
SDG 9:
Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Detailed benefits: Deploying TranSmart Cards and Reading Devices (TRD) as global inclusive financial infrastructure. This technological innovation not only broke through the constraints of time and space after the 1990s Asian Financial Crisis but also laid a solid, scalable technological foundation for the global cashless transaction wave exceeding "USD 36 trillion" in the 2020s.
SDG
17: Partnerships for the Goals
Detailed benefits: This proposal successfully leveraged APEC’s ministerial-level international exchange platform to induce multiple governments to incorporate it into “Best Practice Policies” and legalize it. This is a paradigmatic example of achieving global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through cross-border public–private partnerships (PPP).
Seven Major Benefits of SRI
By deeply integrating the three frameworks of "SROI" (Social Return on Investment), "SDGs" (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals), and "ROI" (Financial Return on Investment), we consolidate them into seven golden benefits. These demonstrate the ultimate synergy of this "SRI" (Social Responsibility Investment), extending from individual wealth to global inclusivity:
1)
Historic Ultra-High Investment Return (ROI Explosiveness):
Replicating the historic miracle from the 1990s to the present of “1 dollar becoming 300 dollars” (a 334-fold appreciation), investors can participate at extremely low cost in legitimate overseas equity consideration that embeds enormous IP value. This ultra-high ROI not only brings personal financial freedom but also acts as a powerful economic engine that infinitely amplifies social capital and flips structural social problems.
2)
Top-Tier Financial Clearing and Perpetual IP Revenue Sharing (Long-Term
Sustainable Income):
Gain priority access to the global USD 36 trillion non-cash transaction wave, enjoying perpetual royalty revenue sharing and priority licensing of next-generation "TPC" ambient-temperature chips. At IP auctions, original initiators also enjoy exclusive asset premium dividends, transforming top-tier financial technology into an endless stream of long-term ROI.
3)
National-Level Strategic Positioning and Global Inclusive Finance (Aligned with
SDG 1, SDG 8, SDG 10)
Inheriting the macro vision of former President Lee Teng-Hui’s “USD 10 trillion nation,” the “Global Channel–TES” proposal via APEC assists 240 million people worldwide in starting businesses and escaping poverty, enabling vulnerable groups to “earn global income from home.” This creates an SROI social impact return of over “28.2 times,” fully realizing the goals of Ending Poverty (SDG 1) and Reducing Inequalities (SDG 10).
4)
Green Low-Carbon Cross-Border Satellite Business Dispatch (Aligned with SDG 9,
SDG 12, SDG 13):
Gain priority access to
the “
5)
Top-Tier IP and Legal Protection Umbrella (Ensuring a Fair Competitive
Environment):
Member enterprises will directly access an original, high-dimensional IP legal protection network, shielding them from monopolistic practices and technological bullying by transnational cartels. At the institutional level, this establishes a high degree of “risk defense capability” (enhancing financial safety ROI), safeguarding the survival space for SMEs and vulnerable entrepreneurs and upholding market justice.
6)
Exclusive Top-Tier Elite
Establish an exclusive, highly scarce top-tier network that enables members to deeply connect with the world’s leading elites in technology, law, and industry–government–academia who understand the high-dimensional IP path. Through cross-border public–private partnerships (PPP) and Private Finance Initiative (PFI), members jointly operate the Social Responsibility Investment (SRI) Fund, becoming the global core decision-making circle driving Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
7)
Zero Marginal Cost Inter-Generational Sustainable Assets (Inheriting the
Ultimate Value of SROI):
Once the digital platform and club infrastructure are deployed, their “zero marginal cost” characteristic will create perpetually self-appreciating benefits. These assets are entirely unaffected by societal inflationary costs; they not only enable inter-generational wealth inheritance (long-term ROI) but also ensure that the SROI spirit of benefiting the world and promoting universal social prosperity continues from generation to generation, endlessly.
Conclusion
Looking back at the 2003 APEC Leaders’ and Ministers’ Meeting in Chiang Mai, that was a historic starting point for global inclusive finance. At the time, ministers and representatives from various countries praised the “Global Channel–TES” proposal, anticipating it would assist “240 million people” in starting businesses and escaping poverty. Back then, this innovative system, which used TPC TranSmart Cards to transcend the constraints of time (t) and space (s), was already regarded as an incredible technology-driven poverty alleviation Social Responsibility Investment.
However, historical development far exceeded even the most conservative expectations of the time. By 2020, as global non-cash transactions surged to USD 36 trillion, this inclusive financial infrastructure and its underlying spirit had, over two decades, substantively helped as many as “1.5 billion people” (vulnerable groups and micro-entrepreneurs) enter the digital economic chain. This means that the best-practice example once seen by APEC ministers has, in contemporary times, expanded by a full “6.25 times.”
This historic leap endows the seven major benefits for investors with unshakable historical persuasiveness. This is a “Social Responsibility Investment” (SRI) that began with national-level ministerial collective endorsement at APEC 2003 and wrote a historical myth in 2020 with “1.5 billion beneficiaries.” It thoroughly breaks the old rule of traditional finance — “capitalists exploiting the vulnerable” — and weaves a digital golden net using TPC chips and high-dimensional IP.
This is not merely a financial entry ticket capable of generating an epic “1 dollar becomes 300 dollars” ROI; it is a great counterattack that deeply binds individual wealth to the fate of all humanity. While general venture capital still fights in red oceans for limited profits, this investment has already, within the USD 36 trillion non-cash wave, constructed sustainable assets that cannot be eroded by era-defining inflation. From the 240 million people praised by APEC back then to today’s astonishing leap of 1.5 billion people, historical data has provided the most perfect answer: This is an ultimate race that combines “extreme financial return” with “transforming the human world.”
By joining "Social Responsibility Investment" (SRI), what you earn will no longer be merely the reward for labor, but rather, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world’s top elites, you become a co-architect of history, leading the next generation toward universal prosperity!
